Small stele of Vishnu. Blackened stone. Northeast India, Bihar. Pala period, 12th/13th century.
Standing on a small, double lotus, in his hands his attributes club, conch and chakra, flanked on his right by Lakshimi with fly whisk and on his left by Sarasvati with vina, both standing in tribhanga pose. Two apsara on top of the prabha and a kirttimukha mask at the top. Plant motifs and adorants on the plinth. Wooden base.
