Four-armed Krishna Venugopala. Copper bronze. South India. 19th century.
Standing with crossed legs on a high, round pedestal, the main hands indicate the holding of a transverse flute, the secondary hands hold chakra and conch shell (shanka). A tight-fitting dhoti around the hips, the whole body is adorned with strings of pearls. Weight 1.49 kg.
