Plaque with a llama. Bronze in repoussé, fire-gilt. Tibet. Early 19th century.
Enthroned on a large cushion seat, in his back ray and cloud mandorla, next to him a large vessel. His hands on his lap, holding a book. He wears the pandita hat folded flat to the front and a robe that leaves his upper body partially exposed. His facial expression radiates calm. Remains of the red pigment.
The figure probably depicts the Indian scholar Shakyaprabha and belongs to the group of revered teachers known in Tibet as "The Six Adornments and Two Excellencies of the Southern Continent".
