Black-ground thangka of Dorje Legpa. Tibet. 19th century. The wrathful, three-eyed tutelary god, modeled with fine golden lines, wearing a wide-brimmed riding hat and a long robe, rides on a goat with twisted horns. In his right hand is a vajra. Highlighted by the smoke cloud mandorla, he is further surrounded by demonic attendants and glorified in the upper section by four lamas of the Gelug school. On the reverse an inscription with the mantra "om - ah - hum" and a handprint. 63 x 46.5 cm Provenance Private collection, Northern Germany
