Buddha Amitayus. Fire-gilt bronze. Qianlong era, around 1770
The richly adorned Lord of Immeasurable Life sits in meditation on a high, square throne from which a cloth decorated with a lotus hangs. His hands lie in his lap in dhyanamudra and originally held the kalasha vase. Weight 1.44 kg.
