Large embroidered red felt panel. Late 19th century. In the central field in flat stitch a stag with a lingzhi in its mouth under a pine tree and a deciduous tree, surrounded by peonies and asters, above the stag a bat, above the trees a flying crane and a sun, at the edge a thin meander border with flowers and a wide border with butterflies and emblems. Details in sewn-on paper threads wrapped in gold. In the center field an inscription (threads have been removed) on the occasion of Nian Yu's birthday, dedicated by four named donors and others, and two seals.
