Inro. Black wood. 19th century. Carved on all sides, the large reserves on both sides with an asa-no-ha pattern and five characters in mother-of-pearl above each. The lines are from a poem about the four seasons by the Chinese poet Tao Yuanming (ca. 365-427). Dutch translation of the lines in Inro. ojime: white stone pearl. Manju made of black-brown wood, carved with a floral pattern, with plum blossoms in relief mother-of-pearl inlay.
