Kiseruzutsu. Ebony, staghorn and metal inlay. Late 19th century.
Signed on inlaid gold plate: Kaiko and seal: Kai
Of the muso-zutsu type. The case, carved in the style of coarsely grained leather, with an overlay of shibuichi in the shape of a man carrying a pannier (?) on his back and holding a skewer with a dango in his hand, details in gold, the edge set in green-colored bone and carved with a running dragon. A meander band in relief on the light staghorn insert.
