Netsuke of a frog on a sponge gourd. Green and brown colored ivory. Late 19th century. Signed: Getchu A frog climbs over the hechima gourd with its legs wide apart. The coloring corresponds to the natural color of the fruit and the frog. L 5.4 cm Provenance Estate, North Rhine-Westphalia, acquired at Lempertz, Cologne, 29/30.11.1988, lot 796 This object was made using materials for which a CITES permit is required for export to countries outside the EU.
