"View of Rome from Capitoline Square".
In the background the Castel Sant'Angelo, in the foreground the equestrian statue of Marcus Aurelius. Sitting in the shadows on the steps of the Palazzo dei Conservatori, a sculptor makes a reduced version of the equestrian monument at the foot of which four gentlemen are conversing. On the right, a group of three women seen from behind, including a widow dressed in black, a pilgrim and a washerwoman.
Oil on oak panel (two horizontal boards slightly separated, on the reverse hands and tower of the city of Antwerp, and panel preparer's mark HV (?)
