MACALLAN, highland single malt, 18 years, 1982 - aged in sherry casks (43%)
Macallan 18 Year Old, distilled in 1982 and bottled in 2000, is part of a series of vintages dating back to 1965, with bottlings beginning in 1984. In 1980, Macallan took over bottling rights from Campbell, Hope & King and expanded its range, initially focused on vintage 15-year-olds, as well as some 8-year-olds and 12-year-olds, by adding 17-year-old and 18-year-old versions. Over time, the 18-year-old Macallan became a mainstay of the brand.
