dating: 1857 - 1859 provenance: USA, Octagonal, 3-3/4", 28 cal barrel with brass conical front sight (bore needs cleaning, visible rifling). Six-shot cylinder with floral engravings at the base. Iron frame with floral engravings. "Sidehammer" type hammer with remains of antique browning and with markings "ELLS PATENT / AUG 1 1854 APRIL 28 1857". Mechanism working in double action only. With number "22" inside the grip and on one of the grips. Wooden grips. Small spots with remains of antique bluing.
