dating: 1864-1866 provenance: USA, Octagonal, rifled, 7-1/2", 36 cal barrel (pitting inside, visible rifling) provided with conical front sight, marked "METROPOLITAN ARMS Co. NEW YORK". Six-shot cylinder with no engraving. Serial numbers "38xx" matching on on barrel, frame, trigger guard, grip and cylinder. Working mechanism. Brass grip bands. Wooden handle. Signs of use and time. Remains of approx. 60% of nickel-plated finishing of non recent production on all parts except the cylinder.
