dating: 1840 provenance: USA, Smoothbore, round barrel, with breech marked "US / LS / P", 14,5 mm cal at the nozzle (approx. .57) 8-1/2" long. Brass foresight, tang with broad sight. Lock marked with eagle-head emblem surmounting "A.WATERS / MILBURY MS" and dated "1840". Brass pan. Well working mechanism. Wooden, three-quarter stock with military inspection stamps on left side "NWS" and "MPL". Iron mounts. Articulated ramrod. Pitting.
