dating: Second half of the 19th Century provenance: Persia, Wide, slightly short, single-and-false-edged blade, with triple groove engraved with floral motifs, the base with deep gilt mark. Grip covered in silver foil with sheath-guard wings, one of the two quillons incomplete, the pommel shaped as a stylised bird's head. The surface engraved with birds within floral motifs. Wooden scabbard covered with green painted leather and sewn with wire. The long mounts decorated en suite but in bas-relief.
