dating: late 17th Century provenance: Giappone, Blade with 70 cm Nagasa. Hada: Itame Nagare Masame, hamon: Suguha, dorsal groove along the entire length. Double habaki in shakudo covered in gilded-silver foil. Nakago-mei: Mutsu no Kami Juji Wara Toshi Naga. Two menuki ana, the groove continues along the entire length of the nagako. Beautiful koshirae with iron tsuba carved and pierced depicting a dragon. Iron fuchi-kashira decorated with gold and silver floral motifs. Complete with menuki. Beige silk Tsuka-ito. Wooden Saya covered with ray skin and lacquered in green and red. Kogai-mei in shakudo with gold, copper and silver decorations depicting birds and trees on a black background.
