Hereke silk
NW Turkey, circa 1980, signed "Hereke" at the top right. The white field, which is elaborately decorated with palmettes, cloud bands and orange arabesques, extends beneath a red pediment. 2 light-colored rosette secondary borders line the wide decorative red main border, which is decorated with Arabic characters and floral motifs. Good condition. 53x76 cm (ft. 1.7x2.5).
