Hereke silk NW Turkey, around 1980, pure silk pile material. Signed "Hereke" at the top right. The red pediment is elegantly decorated with 2 vases, birds and flowering branches and borders the light-colored central field, which is decorated with a collection of filigree cloud bands, palmettes and leaf tendrils and is surrounded by a border with Arabic characters. 2 yellow wavy vine borders line the red main border, which is stylishly decorated with palmettes and forked vines and forms a striking frame. Very good condition. 62x87 cm (ft. 2x2.9).
