Hereke silk
NW Turkey, around 1980, pure silk pile and warp. Signed "Hereke" at the top right. Dense floral work. A colorful, honeycomb-like inner field with an elaborately designed vase and decoratively drawn floral motifs extends beneath a golden-yellow pediment decorated with forked tendrils and arabesques. The light-colored main border is decorated with floral cartouches and pale pink blossom branches, with 2 light blue rosette borders. In good condition. 108x163 cm (ft. 3.6x5.4).
