A breechloading Snider Enfield rifle
dating: 1864 provenance: Regno Unito, Round, rifled, 14 mm cal. barrel (clean bore, clearly visible rifling), with British and "Steel" marks at the base, adjustable and foldaway rear sight, foresight. Typical opening bolt marked "WD" and with marks, working mechanism. Forward spring lock dated "1864", marked "ENFIELD", "VR" under crown and with marks. Wooden, full stock. Brass mounts. Iron ramrod.
