A beautiful double-barreled shotgun converted to percussion by Vital Dumarst
dating: circa 1800 provenance: St. Etienne, Smoothbore, round, juxtaposed, damask, 17 mm cal. barrels, with beautiful browning, the first part marked "A. RUBAN FER DE FAUX" in gold and decorated with floral motifs. Rib with foresight. Tang with broad sight. Lock with plate signed "Vital Dumarest & C.nie", screws finely carved. Briarwood half stock, with checkered palm rest and grip. Finely sculpted with palmette and floral motifs around the locks and tang. Witha boar's head (small missing part Under the butt ). Iron mounts, the fore-end cap with small monster's head containing the ramrod. Trigger guard with winged figure in relief.
