dating: circa 1860 - 1870 provenance: Francia, Smoothbore, round, damask, twisted, 12 gauge barrel, with central rib with foresight and signed "Lefaucheux Inventeur a Paris". Some pitting and defects on the outside, the inside well preserved, with some signs of use and time. On the bottom Lefaucheux marks, mark "E. BERNARD / CANNONIER DE PARIS" and crowned "E.B." marks. Backward spring locks with working mechanism. Receiver, cocks and lock plates finely engraved and carved with vine shoots. Trigger guard with curl. Marbled wood butt with remains of checkering at the grip, iron butt plate worked en suite.
