KROU, LIBERIA, 19th century Prestigious anklet decorated with circular and undulating strings, and adorned with a floral bud. Bronze, old green and brown patina, marks of use. This important ornament marks the social rank of the wearer and of the person who shares her life. It involves heavy expenditure and impedes movement. H. 24 cm; W. 17 cm. Our example can be considered one of the largest and heaviest, very close to and the same size as the one reproduced on page 45 of the book: A.
