RIGAUD, Hyacinthe (attributed to) Charles de Saint-Albin, Archbishop of Cambrai. 18th c Black and white chalk, 41,4 x 30,8 cm, blue paper, ms. note in pen "Mr. de St. Albain archeveque de Cambray, dessiné par Mr. Rigaud qui en a aussi peint le Tableau / C'est sur ce dessein qu'il a ête Gravé par Mr. Drevet." (sl. browned, few spots). Mounted at upper edge. Excellent design drawing for an engraved portrait. Based on Rigaud's famous painting in Los Angeles (The Getty, inv. 88.PA.136). A similar drawing is in Washington (National Gallery of Art, inv. 2002.27.1).
