Death of a pious and a faithless man. 17th c Oil on canvas, 87,2 x 112,1 cm (later frame, few losses, scratches and retouching). Interesting Italo-Fiammingo painting of a large interior with two men on their deathbeds. While the figures are rather Flemish, the composition has an Italian character. In the light at left a man surrounded by angels and monks. In the shadow at right a man surrounded by demons. At top center the Madonna granting salvation to the pious man at left. At center a balcony with a view on a landscape.
