Apulian red-figure epichysis of the Menzies group. 330 - 320 BC H 15.7cm, ø 9.2cm. Beaked jug with pyxid body. Female head applique on the side of the spout. On the shoulder a mounted and richly decorated Eros with offering bowl. Numerous details in yellow and white. The body surrounded by a vine of white ivy leaves and an incised branch. With certificate of authenticity from Galerie Günter Puhze, Freiburg im Breisgau! Published in: Kunst der Antike - Galerie Günter Puhze catalog 16, 2002, no. 196 (copy enclosed). Tiny chip to the base, otherwise intact and in perfect condition. Provenance: From the collection of R.
