Attic white-ground and black-figure cylinder lekythos in the style of the Haimon Painter. 480 - 460 BC H 19.6 cm, ø body 6.7 cm. The figurine depicts a central scene from the Eleusinian Mysteries. Flanked by the goddess Demeter and her daughter Persephone, Triptolemos sits on a winged chariot with ears of corn in his hands - the gifts of the gods for the cultivation of mankind.
