Attic black-figure cylinder lekythos of the Haimon group. 500 - 480 BC H 16cm, ø body 5.9cm. On the front Heracles wrestling with the Erymanthian boar, above branches and his weapons including quiver and club. Two Amazons on horseback to the side. Numerous details in white, now faded, and perhaps also red. With certificate of authenticity from Galerie Günter Puhze, Freiburg im Breisgau! Published in: Kunst der Antike - Galerie Günter Puhze catalog 17, 2003, no. 144 (copy enclosed). There also the apt comparison with an almost identical lekythos in Stuttgart, see CVA Stuttgart Pl. 21, 3-5 (with further comparisons). Some scratches to the reverse, otherwise intact and in excellent condition. Provenance: From the R. L. Collection, Lower Saxony, acquired in 2003 from Galerie Puhze, Freiburg im Breisgau; previously in a southern German collection from the 1990s.
