Roman transport amphora for olive oil of the Lamboglia 2 type. Adriatic coast of Italy, ca. 110 BC - 50 AD. H 91cm and with stand 93.5cm. Red-brown clay. With high and conically tapering mouth rim and strap handles. With a beautiful iron stand! Foot tip broken, fragment of the mouth rim missing, otherwise unbroken and intact, remains of marine growth. Provenance: From the private collection D. W., Baden-Württemberg; previously in a German private collection since the 1970s.
