Circus horse. Roman imperial period, 2nd century AD. H 16cm. Hollow cast. Chariot top with a base plate with a profile on the front with a rectangular spout at the bottom and a hook at the front. The calmly striding horse with slightly raised right front leg is bridled. The neck is apparently in a plaid collar with a crest at the bottom, under which a border peeps out. Magnificent green patina, one corner of the handle plate broken, cracks in the legs, casting defect on the reverse. Provenance: Acquired in 1982 from the B.C. Collection, England.
