Etruscan situla bag. Late 5th - early 4th century BC. H 9.6 cm and with base 13.4 cm, W 8.5 cm. Solid cast with cold work. From a situla with shoulder and an omega handle. Profiled guide ring for the handle at the top. Underneath, on the protruding rim, two opposing, plastically shaped animal heads. Followed by a frieze of two rows of engraved triangular patterns and a plastically shaped acanthus frieze with engraved details. Dark green patina, small areas of corrosion, missing part on the right acanthus, mounted on a wooden base. Provenance: Formerly in the German private collection of Dr. F. K., acquired in 1998 from Edith Bader Koller - Arte Classica, Lugano.
