Late antique clay lamp with cross. North Africa, 4th - 5th century A.D. Type Hayes II. L 14.5cm, H 5cm. Made of light red clay with light red coating. Cone-shaped handle, ovoid body, rounded snout with firing hole, two filling holes in the mirror. A cross with five medallions on the mirror, concentric circles below. Alternating Christograms in a laurel wreath and filled squares on the shoulder. With certificate of authenticity from Galerie Günter Puhze, 2008! Sintered, intact. Provenance: From the R. L.
