Scroll seal with worship scene. Syria, ca. 1720 - 1620 B.C. H 1.7 cm, ø 1.0 cm. Hematite. A deity with a conical headdress holds a lightning fork(?) in her left hand and wields a mace with her right; in front of her stands a worshipper with a throwing stick, behind her a Syrian woman. In the fields between the figures two ankhs and a crouching mongoose; bird, seated griffin and seated sphinx as separating elements. With a copy of the bill! With unrolling! Published in: B. Teissier, Ancient Near Eastern Cylinder Seals from the Marcopoli Collection, 1984, no. 481. Tiny fragment missing from the lower drilled hole.
