Predynastic cord handle vessel. Naqada II, 3500 - 3200 B.C. H 9.4 cm, ø 13.3 cm. Bellied pot with two horizontal cord handles made of reddish terracotta with brown painting in the form of metope fields with horizontal zigzag lines. P.1196 on the shoulder, which is probably the inventory number of Sir Flinders Petrie. With certificate of authenticity from Galerie Günter Puhze, Freiburg i.Br.! Composed of fragments, small missing part retouched. Provenance: From the R. L. Collection, Lower Saxony, acquired in 2003 from Galerie Puhze, Freiburg im Breisgau; from the collection of the famous English Egyptologist Sir W. M. Flinders Petrie (1853-1942).
