Bronze pin with "Conqueror of the Animals". Luristan, 10th - 9th century BC L 25cm. The pin shaft (L 18.2cm) merges into a grooved socket with eyelet. The pin head is open-worked: In the center is a human figure, to which two upright panthers are antithetically assigned. The group is framed by panther heads on long necks. The motif of the "conqueror of beasts" is depicted, which is most frequently found on needles. G. Zahlhaas, Luristan. Ancient bronze from Iran. Exhibition catalog Munich (2002) p.70f, no.141.
