Large poster featuring the actor's face in b/w in a blue cross-beam of music-hall characters in yellow and red. Released while Chaplin was being expelled from the U.S., the film was inspired by his life, tracing the journey of a music-hall performer losing popularity. Enclosed: 1. Chromolith, 158 x 118 cm, vellum 162.5 x 124 cm, signed in the fold (creases, a few scratches). Mounted on fine paper and canvas. Good condition. Impressive poster for this 1938 film, first released under the title "Swiss Miss", in which Laurel and Hardy were caricatured; the former standing alongside a woman to help the latter climb a mountain overlooking a village.
