Album of the Belgian adjutant Gaston Notel. 1966 C. 430 photos, (photo)postcards (and envelops), some ms. captions in pencil. Mod. ad hoc photo album. Album with photos, sent postcards and photopostcards from several working stations of military man Gaston Notel among others Congo, Japan and Belgium. The album bears the written postcards Gaston sent home to Fernande "Madame Notel Gaston" in Hainaut. C. 204 photos of Congo around 1966: parades in honour of the visit of certain Congolese military and political men (in Mbuji Mayi) in 1966: we can identify Léonard Mulamba, Joseph Ngalula, Louis Bobozo, Léopold Massiala, administators of MIBA (Société minière de Bakwanga) near Mbuji Mayi, furthermore photos of Notel together with indigenous people, sport games, traditional festivities, aerial photos showing housing, military training, the visit of Kasa-Vubu (?), market scenes, etc. C. 187 photos of Asia with a large part of Japan around 1954: Mount Fuji, geishas, spring blossoms, harvesting tea, traditional festivities and arts and crafts, sumo wrestling, wellness treatments (volcanic sand bathing), military camp in Ogori, portraits of Belgian soldiers (some names in pencil: Duchampt, Parvais, Van Acker, Nicolaleiff, etc.), scenes of Hong Kong (peak streetcar, rickshaw, Victoria Harbour, Haw Par Mansion, Cheung Chau Island, etc.).
