PELLAR, Hanns Der verliebte Flamingo. Sehn galante Zeichnungen von [...]. [Munich? the Author] 1923 Square folio, 32 x 32 cm: 10 hand-coloured pl. laid down on cardboard; [4] ff. with introduction (some marg. foxing/spotting on pl.). In ff., text under printed wrappers, in publ. blue cloth portfolio with gilt ill. title. In original blue paper box (some marg. tears on box). Good copy. First edition issued in only 150 copies for the artist's friends (n. 55), with an introductory booklet by Max Krell. The 10 superbly coloured plates depict the sophisticated eroticism of the Roaring Twenties through women dressed in rococo style. H. Pellar (1886-1971), "Maler der Eleganz", was appointed by the Grand Duke of Hesse to the Mathildenhöhe artists' colony in Darmstadt. He moved then to Frankfurt in 1925.
