The aim of the journey made by the British explorer Colquhoun (1848-1914) was to trace the best route to connect the Burmah and China by railway; the fold. map in 2nd volume depicts a proposed extention of British Burma Railway System. Colquhoun was the first Administrator of the Southern Rhodesia or British South Africa Company.
