Japan, 19th century Signed Shoju. Carved wood in the shape of an abalone shell, in which an octopus with a folding fan is hidden. H 3.5 cm. Enclosed: Tree nut bead, probably China, 19th century. Openwork carved with shishi lions and flowers. H 3 cm.
