Lalit Mohan Sen (Indian, 1898 - 1954), Three landscapes with buildings, each signed L.M. Sen 1933 (lower left) and labelled verso 'L.M. Sen A.R.C.A. Govt. School of Arts & Crafts, Lucknow' submitting the works 'For Competition, Not Previously Exhibited 6/12/33', oil on board, 'Spring Clouds' - 32 x 39.5 cm; 'The Headman's House' 37 x 45 cm; 'Mid-Day Quiet' 27 x 40 cm, each framed Lalit Mohan Sen studied at the Government School of Art in Lucknow from 1912 to 1917, and furthered his studies at the Royal Academy of Art in London from 1925. In 1929 he was appointed Superintendent of Drawing and Teacher Training Class in Lucknow and selected to decorate the Viceroy's House in New Delhi. In 1931 he undertook similar work on India House in London. He returned to the Government School of Art in Lucknow in 1945 to act as Principal. Qty: (3)
