Red half-maroquin with corners, spine ribbed, gilt head, untrimmed, cover and spine preserved (period binding). Illustrated first edition, with 114 black compositions by Pierre-Georges Jeanniot, including 24 chapter headings, 24 cul-de-lampe illustrations and 66 full-page illustrations. One of 30 copies on japon paper (n° 48), initialed by the publisher, second paper after 30 copies on chine and before 30 on Hollande. Enriched with an original drawing signed by Jeanniot, in Indian ink, entitled "Incendiaire et assassin". Head cover partly torn off.
