Havana half-maroquin with corners, gilt fillets, ornate ribbed spine, gilt head, untrimmed, cover and spine preserved (Yseux sr. de Thierry-Simier). First edition of these two volumes of correspondence. Both are among 50 copies on Hollande paper, each bearing the number 11. Very fine copies, uniformly bound by Yseux. The second volume is enriched by two newspaper articles, one by André Billy, the other by Paul Souday, concerning the work. A very well preserved copy.
