Purple-gray box decorated on the boards with a rich geometrical decoration comprising a large frame of metallic blue box motifs surrounding in the center a rectangle decorated in the same spirit with motifs in red, garnet, orange, dark green, blue, light blue, pink, light green box, gray and pale green, smooth spine decorated in the same spirit, mauve-gray suede lining edged with gold fillet, same suede endpapers, gilt edges on witnesses, cover and spine preserved, mauve-gray box spine and cover bands, edged slipcase (P. L. Martin 1961). First edition. One of the first 30 numbered copies on Hollande van Gelder vellum (no. 11). In a sumptuous contemporary binding with geometric mosaic, designed by Pierre-Lucien Martin for Professor Jacques Millot (1897-1980), arachnologist and bibliophile, founder of the Société de la reliure originale. A perfectly preserved copy. Provenance: Jacques Millot, with inscription "Relié pour Jacques Millot" in gilt letters on the bottom of the first lining (1991, no. 163).
