Beautiful edition of Ovid's L'Art d'aimer, in Pierre Lièvre's new translation. It is illustrated by the Swiss engraver and illustrator André LAMBERT (1884-1967) with 23 color etched out-of-text compositions, including a title, 4 frontispieces and 18 compositions, as well as a few woodcut initials and ornaments.
Edition of 500 copies; one of 404 on Arches vellum with the collection watermark, containing the definitive state in color of all plates (no. 430).
A very fine copy in contemporary mosaic binding.
