Brown morocco, double gilt fillet and dark blue morocco band framing the boards, circle of two gilt fillets and a black fillet framing a gilt scarab on black morocco branches in the center of the first board, smooth spine decorated with gilded fillets and dark blue morocco bands, gilded and cold filleting inside, gray moiré silk lining and endpapers, double endpapers, gilded head, untrimmed, cover and spine preserved, lined case (Milochau-Louppe). One of 20 copies hors commerce, this one on Arches vellum, numbered XVI. A rare copy in a perfectly executed binding signed Milochau-Louppe. Émile Milochau practiced in Montrouge from about 1925 to 1945. Louppe succeeded him from around 1950 until 1965. It is possible that this signed binding was produced in the early 1950s by Louppe alone. A very well preserved copy.
