AN IMPORTANT BELLE EPOQUE CEYLON NO HEAT SAPPHIRE, DIAMOND AND PEARL BROOCH in platinum and yellow gold, in foliate design set with an oval cut sapphire of 14.80 carats accented by round brilliant, old and rose cut diamonds, the diamonds totalling approximately 3.5-4.0 carats, suspending a pearl drop of 8.3mm, no assay marks, 6.2cm, 28.3g. Accompanied by a gemmological report stating the sapphire is of Ceylon (Sri Lankan) origin with no indication of heat treatment.
