Full porphyry calf, spines finely decorated with musical instruments, roulettes on the boards, gilt edges (period bindings). A fine copy, despite a few cracked jaws and two eliminated headpieces.
Third edition, corrected and given by the Spanish Academy (after those of 1780 and 1782).
Palau, 52028: El gran éxito con que fue recibida la bella edición de 1782 (económica, igual en todo a la de 1780 menos las láminas diferentes) obligó a la Real Academia a publicar la de 1787.
The 23 plates (not 22, cf. Palau) are designed by Isidro y Antoño Carnicero, copper-engraved by Selma, Montaner, Brieva, Moreno Tejada, Fabregat, Palomino, Ballester y Carmona.
