Five volumes in five volumes in-8 (frontispiece, 4 ff, ccxliv, 143 pp, 3 plates // 3 ff, 318 pp, 8 plates // 2 ff, 275 pp, 4 plates // 10 ff, 456 pp, 8 plates, 2 maps // 3 ff, 483 pp, 9 plates, 1 filled map), full marbled fawn calf, finely ornamented smooth spines, mottled edges (18th century bindings). A fine copy, despite some light spotting on the boards and a small light ring at the top of the margins.
Sancha's much sought-after first edition, illustrated with a frontispiece and 35 figures drawn by R. Ximeno, A. Navarro, Monnet, Camaron y Paret; engraved on copper by P. Duflos and Moreno Tejada.
Palau, 52030: Esta edición, por su belleza tipográfica, por la buena corrección del texto y por su acertado tamaño, es una de las más apreciadas, realizando en todo el ideal del bibliófilo... La Vida de Cervantes y las notas de Pellicer constituyen un buen trabajo, cuya consulta siempre resulta de provecho.
Rius, 59 : es tan importante por las eruditisimas notas y comentarios de Pellicer. Merece ser colocada entre las buenas y concienzudas que del Quijote se han Hecho.
