Carved polychrome zitan statuette of Avalokitesvara standing on a lotiform base, leaning against a mandorla adorned with lotus scrolls. Of yellow complexion, he wears a long dhoti, a scarf around his hips and draped over his shoulders, heavy earrings and a seven-flower tiara. He performs the teaching gesture with his left hand (vitarka mudra) and the giving gesture with his right hand (varada mudra). A lotus blooms near his left shoulder (accident, wear).
